I must say that I have just had an incredible weekend! It was filled with prayer meetings, hang out times, new opportunities and random blessings! All the way from getting to pray and play in the rain to being asked to preach at a church that I was recently hired at in Kona. Things happened that were beyond my expectations!
Has that ever happened to you before? Where things all begin to fall into place. Making you see and feel as if you definitely are in the right place? That is what happened to me and it was incredible! There are few times in my life where I really believe that God was going out of His way to show me His love and to confirm the path that I am on.
So on Sunday, I went to this church that I got hired at 2 weeks ago to help set up and tear down for service. Its a simple church filled with the generation that has come before, and its small but pleasant. I was standing off to the side before the service started when the pastor approached me. I had been holding a newsletter in my hand that the pastors wife just gave me about all the things the church is involved with. When the pastor asked me if those were my notes for the sermon I was giving that day. I laughed and said no, but took that time to chime in and say that if he wanted me to preach I could. Than he got serious and asked if I really would. I took a second to think about it and told him I would love too. That I got a few opportunities both in India and Oman to speak and how I much enjoyed it. To my surprise he said that he would work it in to the schedule. He wants to give me a Sunday in his church!
Now, not only a few days prior to this day I had been thinking about all my times I got to preach. In India I spoke in a conference to a large group of temple prostitutes. I also spoke in house churches and in villages. In Oman I got to speak in two of the house groups we spent time with. I loved it. I even think I have a gift for it! So when I was told I would get the chance to here in Kona, I could barely contain my excitement!
Than last night I went to an open field I had found and begin throwing a few frisbees around by myself. I was talking to God and feeling slightly out of place. As if I wasn't doing enough. That I didn't feel like I was making a difference for anyone. God cut me short. Opened my eyes to see the impact I am having on others and how I am being equipped for a long term mission with Christ. Between maintaining a building filled with 150 young people. To being a personal assistant to one of the main leader hers on campus. And now having the opportunity to use my gift of speaking to preach to a small congregation. I guess you can say that God is truly orchestrating my steps, and I am ok with it! In fact it brings me much peace and joy to see the fruit of God in my life, actions, and speech! I love it!
