"I care about the things that you care about Ryan" -He spoke to me as I lay face down....
I have sat and pondered many things lately. Questioning my faith and Gods goodness goes hand in hand with difficulty and prolonged heavenly response. As the trial bares more weight, you begin to wonder if God even cares. If He even notices.
The reason you have these questions is based solely on your past experiences. Mine include seeing miraculous healing, divine provision and appointment as well as years of building a personal relationship. So, when I faced this thing that I had little preparation for, I wondered where God was. I wondered why now and why this. I am being vague because it is still occurring. This struggle and this difficulty. Yet I am not questioning God anymore. I am praying now for Gods hand to be shown. For His works to be done.
Why the change you ask? Well mainly because the severity of the situation is changing, but also because I now see it as an opportunity for God to work. Rather than seeing the absence of God, I am seeing the potential for God.
Do you realize that God is the God of trials? He doesn’t just want the best for you, He wants you to become the best you. But that can’t happen if you are only ever pampered. Character is produced when suffering is overcome. When you begin to once again believe in what hasn’t been shown but you know to be true. A wise man has told me that my mission should not be determined by my condition. Because a condition is temporary but a mission is eternal.
So, I write this as an encouragement. There is hope in God, there is strength in God, there is victory in God. No matter what you face, no matter what you fear, no matter if you fail; God remains the same and He is worth your everything!
With that I embrace this trial, I stand on my faith, and I continue to believe for the impossible! The real question becomes, what will you do?
